About Us
Prime Health Consultants Ltd is a consulting and development firm supporting agencies through every stage of mission-oriented health and development programs and projects, from planning and initiating through to managing, executing and closing out.
We have an in-depth understanding of Africa's health care sector, combined with deep local and country-specific insight, giving some of the continent's most prominent institutions, agencies and donors solutions that actually fit the terrain they work in. We continuously strengthen our expertise by working with leading organizations, helping them manage challenging relationships with demanding and critical stakeholders and understand complex country dynamics.
Our services include technical backstopping for donor-funded projects, project leadership and communications with stakeholders, project planning and scheduling, earned value management support, performance monitoring and measurement, reporting and documentation, stakeholder briefings, and related project support and program integration services.
Backed by a mix of associate consultants and development practitioners, we bring over 10 years of experience delivering these services across our client engagements.
The Challenge
Inadequate policies, thin performance accountability and limited flexibility make it hard for systems to respond to changing health needs and emergencies — which in turn makes it harder to attract the national resources they need to improve.
Our Approach
Four stages we draw on, tailored to what each program requires.
Needs assessments, baseline surveys, independent monitoring, KAP surveys, evaluations and feasibility studies — sometimes with us implementing directly on a donor's behalf.
We develop and test methodologies aimed at achieving sustainable community development within the shortest realistic timeframe, backed by studies and analysis that document each proposed effort.
Through skills transfer, we help individuals, communities and NGOs reach the health intervention goals they've set — including strategic plans we help carry through to implementation.
Task-oriented training for trainers, CBOs and NGOs, using a Participatory Learning and Action approach so training stays responsive to what the clientele actually needs.
