PHC's expertise in training and operational research is a cornerstone of our work, enabling us to identify bottlenecks or gaps in health services, supply chain issues, and health product performance. This allows program implementers to refine their plans and ensure that scarce resources are utilized efficiently and effectively.

Identifying and Addressing Health System Challenges

We conduct operational research across a wide range of areas, including health system strengthening, reproductive health, maternal, neonatal, and child health, nutrition, and disease control, such as malaria, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and neglected tropical diseases. Our studies help uncover critical insights that guide program improvements and optimize health service delivery.

PHC undertakes in-depth evaluations and learning exercises for health programs of varying scope, size, and sector. Whether it’s a single disease intervention implemented by one agency in a specific region or district, or an integrated, multi-thematic area intervention carried out by a consortium of partners across multiple countries, we apply the same rigorous evaluation design to all projects. Our expertise extends beyond health, as we have also evaluated projects in areas such as disability-focused development, social inclusion, and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH).

Diverse Research Methodologies
PHC employs both qualitative and quantitative research methods, tailored to the needs of each project. Our expertise includes observational studies, cluster-randomized control trials, and quasi-experimental studies. This methodological flexibility allows us to address the unique challenges of each research project and provide robust, evidence-based recommendations.

Empowering Program Implementers

Through our training and operational research services, we empower program implementers to enhance their health service provision. By identifying gaps and bottlenecks, we help ensure that interventions are effective, efficient, and aligned with the broader goals of health system strengthening and disease control.
